It all started with our very first music video shoot. The plan was to use an old yellow pick up truck for the video. When at the last minute we were unable to use the truck, we had to think fast!

Since there was no time to find another vehicle, we decided to grab some non-toxic, washable paint and get to work. It worked out so well, that we began painting the van for all of our summer shows.

If you see us driving past, make sure you beep and wave!

Hope to see you on the road!

* How long does it take to paint the van ?
Usually it takes about 2 1/2 hours. That includes giving the van a good wash and a quick wax to protect it. It doesn’t seem like very much time though out in the nice warm summer sunshine. It really is a lot of fun.

* What kind of paint do you use?
It is finger paint for children. As such it is of course completely non-toxic and safe for the environment.

* Does it take a ton of paint to cover the whole van?
No. Actually it takes very little. The Paint is applied with a stiff artist’s brush and goes on very thin. I think this is because the van is white to begin with that the colors, although very thin, shine through brightly.

* How do you get the paint off the van?
When we are ready to remove the paint from the van, all it takes is a little soapy water and a sponge. One of the coolest things we have found is that the paint will stay on pretty well in the rain. Except of course for the time we followed someone's advice to put a little soap in the paint to make it easier to clean off. By the time we got to our destination, the van looked pretty psychodelic!

* Can you touch the van when it's painted?
It's not a good idea to touch or lean up against the van when it's painted since some of the color will rub off. However, since the paint is non-toxic and 100% safe, it will wash off with a little soap and water whether on your hands or on your clothes.

* How often do you have to paint the van?
It depends on the weather, how many little fingers have touched it and how many dads have leaned against it!
